What started as a simple idea to would allow people in Africa to easily book bus tickets at a click, has now revolutionalised traveler’s experience in the region.

Dubbed QuickBus is an online marketplace ticketing system who partners with long-distance buses operators.

Bus travelers are expected to book for tickets through their smartphone or a basic feature phone, from the convenience of their homes and offices.

QuickBus the company is managed by a team with over 10 years of executive experience in online bus sales.

Speaking to The Exchange, QuickBus Managing Director Mr Humphrey Wrey said that the company was founded one year ago with an intention of simplifying the long distance travel experience.

“The bus companies sign up for the service. This then allows us to have their service listed with us,” he said adding that the Bus company pays a per centage of commission to QuickBus of between 8-12 per cent.

The service is currently available in Kenya, Uganda, Angola and South Africa having signed up close to 20 companies with a huge number of fleet under their wings.

Some of the companies that are on the platform include, Classic coach, Swift coach, Dar Express, Imani and Intercape among others.

“Choose your destination, select bus, view the seat layout, choose seats, and book your ticket in just a few clicks,” reads a statement on the company’s website.

The QuickBus experience does not end with the booking.

 

For customer convenience QuickBus offers navigation to bus boarding points, real-time tracking of buses and information on rest stops. QuickBus also partners with leading bus operators to provide exclusive “Quick Deals” to customers booking on QuickBus.

A dedicated Support Toll Free Number is also available to cater to all the passengers needs while they are on-the- go.
