The Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company or LPRC, Amos Tweh, cautions citizens in southeast Liberia, particularly River Gee, to use their County Meet success to promote unity within the country.

“Let’s us use this huge success to bring unity to our dear county and country at large”, he says.

Tweh, who’s also the current secretary general of the ruling Unity Party, spoke recently when he applauded River Gee County, newly crowned champions of the 2023 national county sports meet.

He applauded players, coaching staff, and members of the steering committee for winning their first-ever national county sports meet trophy, saying, “We will continue to identify with the county whatever it is involved in, especially this case with sports.”

“We began playing our role when the county got qualified and came to town, so we needed to push them, which is exactly what we did continually.”

He appreciated the players, saying, “We are very joyful and thankful to the players. At least we could harness their true potential in ways that they have now been placed in the spotlight.

The youthful LPRC Managing Director said he was excited to have seen young people with so much talent from the county, and what they demonstrate shows that they are capable of doing for the country. He vows to continuously provide the county with the necessary support.

He told the players that his being placed in such a lucrative position has allowed him to open additional windows for them.

He further promised to talk to other big teams about exempting players from the county to enable them to expose their talent and potential.
