President Joseph Boakai in America for U.S.-Africa Business Summit.

Monrovia, Liberia, May 6, 2024 – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., leads an array of officials to the US-Africa Business Summit, scheduled to take place in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, beginning today, May 6-9, 2024. 

President Boakai and his delegation departed the country last week and will return on May 15, 2024.

Among the delegation is Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism, Jerolimek Piah, reflecting Liberia’s dedication to fostering economic partnerships and attracting investments for national development.

The Summit, an annual event facilitating dialogue between African and American business and government leaders, aims to bolster trade and economic ties. Liberia’s participation underscores its commitment to leveraging global partnerships for economic advancement and improving the livelihoods of its citizens.

Minister Piah, alongside other senior government officials, will engage in panel discussions and networking sessions to showcase Liberia’s business potential and explore avenues for investment, particularly in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and technology. This participation aligns with Liberia’s strategic goal of attracting tangible investments that will catalyze economic growth and development.

The official delegation comprises a diverse array of government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti; Minister of Commerce & Industry, Amin Modad; and Alexander Nuetah, Minister of Agriculture, among others.

Their collective presence signifies Liberia’s concerted efforts to expand and strengthen bilateral relations with the United States and position itself as a prime investment destination in West Africa.

Following the Summit, President Boakai will embark on a visit to Atlanta, Georgia, from May 10-13, 2024, to engage with investors, business leaders, and Liberia’s supporters. Editing by Jonathan Browne
