Summerville, USA (Global Diaspora News) — During a live service broadcast on January 24, 2018, Prophet Uebert Angel prophesied about the former President of Ivory coast, Laurent Gbagbo, who at that time had been in prison for 7 years. During the service, the prophet located a lady in the crowd. Then, he took a sealed envelope from her hands. Before saying anything, he asked some people in the crowd to tell him what they see in the sealed envelope. All the congregants to whom he asked that question said they could not see anything. He then asked the lady if she is a politician. She answered no. As the envelope was still sealed, the prophet then started talking about the request concerning a politician whose picture was in the envelope. The lady replied that she is from Ivory Coast and that she wants the release of the politician whose photo was in the envelope. Prophet Angel asked the lady to open the envelope. As she opened it, the picture of former President Laurent Gbagbo was in the envelope just as the prophet was saying. Prophet Uebert Angel then prophesied to the lady that the God who saw the picture in the envelope and specifically revealed her request will release the former president from prison. Consequently, Prophet Uebert Angel decreed and declared that every prison holding the former president be broken and every piece that was arrested in cage be loosened in the mighty name of Jesus.
Indeed, born on May 31, 1945, Laurent Gbagbo became president of Côte d’Ivoire in 2000. Before Gbagbo was elected president, there was political unrest which started since the death (on 7 December 1993) of Félix Houphouët-Boigny, the first president of Ivory Coast who ruled this French speaking country for 33 years (1960 to 1993). Not long after Gbagbo, who is from the southern part of the country, took office on October 26, 2000, rebel forces revolted and later took control of the northern part of the country. In September 2002, civil war began in this country, which is the world’s #1 cocoa producer. A presidential election was held on October 31, 2010, five years after Gbagbo’s first term as president had expired. After disputing the result of the presidential election in November 2010, he refused to step down, which contributed to a deeper political crisis. After a delay, the country’s electoral commission declared on December 2, 2010 that his opponent Ouattara was the winner. However, citing numerous irregularities, the Constitutional Council speedily contested the results and declared Gbagbo the winner. Gbagbo was sworn in for another term, while Ouattara, who still had international backing and support of the rebel troops also had himself sworn in as president and formed a parallel government, therefore making Ivory Coast a country governed by two conflicting presidents who each claimed victory. The African Union and many other institutions tried to mediate the crisis, but, to no avail, fighting intensified between the two camps. On April 11, 2011, supported by France (led by President Nicolas Sarkozy), the United Nations, and other institutions, forces loyal to Ouattara seized Laurent Gbagbo at his residence in Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast and one of the most populous French-speaking cities in Africa. The UN insisted that Gbagbo be arrested, judged, and tried for crimes against humanity. The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant for Gbagbo’s arrest in late November 2011. He was transferred to an ICC detention unit in The Hague, Netherlands, where he was charged with 4 counts of crimes against humanity for allegedly having been an “indirect co-perpetrator” of acts of murder, rape, other forms of sexual violence, persecution, and other inhuman acts. The crisis in Ivory Coast had contributed to a massive migration of Ivorians to other countries. For instance, as of today, because of the political turbulence in Ivory Coast, since the death of Félix Houphouët-Boigny and the subsequent efforts to establish democracy in that country, millions of people fled that country to find “refuge” in the diaspora.
After spending years in prison, the trial of Gbagbo at the International Criminal Court began on 28 January 2016. He denied all charges and filed a “no case to answer” motion in July 2018. However, his defense did not convince ICC. It was after the prophecy of Prophet Uebert Angel that things drastically changed in the favor of Gbagbo.
On August 7, 2018, forty-three days after the prophecy of Major Prophet Uebert Angel, Ms. Simone Gbagbo (the wife of the president), who was also imprisoned for the same charges as her husband, was granted amnesty by the Ivorian President Alasane Ouatara, therefore released from prison after serving 3 of her 20 years sentence for crimes against humanity she was allegedly accused of. President Alasane Ouatara, the current president of Ivory Coast, also granted a pardon to some members of her team in what he said was a move to foster reconciliation.
On January 15, 2019, meaning five months and 8 days after the release of his wife, the ex-president Laurent Gbagbo was acquitted by an International Criminal Court panel of all charges against him for the prosecutors did not sufficiently satisfy the burden of proof regarding their charges. Consequently, he was released from prison, just as Prophet Uebert Angel has prophesied. This prophecy fulfillment should not surprise those who understand the prophetic ministries, particularly the one shaking Africa and many nations right now.
Humanly speaking and recalling what happened, while some people rejoiced after the verdicts, which still seem pending an appeal, several are mad and disappointed at the dismal of the charges against Laurent Gbagbo. However, it is important to mention that, as simply a vessel, not the originator of the messages, true prophets speak only when they hear from God, and they confirm God’s decrees which sometimes go against the will of the people. That is why some things can be declared by the mouth of certain messengers, but, they are decisions and verdicts declared by God, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone He wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.
Prophet Uebert Angel is one of the contemporary leaders of the modern prophetic movement that is backed up by miracles, healings, signs, wonders. He is an international businessman and has received many honors including “The Most Influential Contemporary African Diaspora Leaders” honor in 2016.
