Upper House Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi has on Sunday received at his office, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to Somalia Abdulfatah Abdullahi Hassan.

The Ambassador congratulated Hashi for his re-election in the recent election of House leadership in the country.

They discussed strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries and other myriad of important issues to both the two Nations.

Somalia and Ethiopia have enjoyed a good bilateral relations since outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo came to power in 2017 after cutting it’s diplomatic relations with Kenya.

The two countries have cooperated in areas such as aviation sector, movement of goods and services and security since Ethiopia is a contributing member of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) which has dealt a major blow to Al-Shabab insurgents by toppling them from key towns and areas.
