Former Al-Shabaab leader and Minister Sheikh Mukhtar Robow met with the Norwegian chargé d’affaires in Mogadishu Haakon Svane.
The envoy said he discussed with the new Minister for Religious Affairs and Endowment Mukhtar Robow the federal government’s priorities and ambitions in this field.
´´Thankful for the opportunity to meet Somalia’s new Minister for Religious Affairs and Endowment MukhtarRobow and deputy Minister Salah Sharif in their office,´´ said Norwegian chargé d’affaires in Mogadishu Haakon Svane.
The former deputy leader of the Al-Shabaab militant group urged the people of Somalia to “embrace peace and forgiveness.”
Robow was appointed after spending many years behind bars.
He fell out with the administration of the immediate former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
