The ILO Monitor: COVID-19 and the world of work. Seventh edition, and accompanying press release, will be published on Monday 25 January.
It presents the latest data on workplace closures and losses in working hours, labour income and employment in 2020, comparing the findings with the previous year. The report also gives labour market projections for 2021, including an assessment of the type of recovery we are likely to see in the coming year and recommendations for the way ahead.
Data by region, age, gender, income group and sector, are also included in the report, as well as some country-specific statistics.
The report and all associated materials will be under STRICT EMBARGO until Monday 25 January at 12:00 GMT (13:00 CET).
For UNOG-accredited correspondents, an embargoed virtual press briefing will take place on Monday 25 January from 10:00 to 11:00 GMT (11:00 to 12:00 CET). Login details will be sent to journalists ahead of the briefing.
Selected regional journalists will be able to follow the virtual briefing via YouTube. The link will be sent in advance.
Guy Ryder, ILO Director-General, and Sangheon Lee, Director, ILO Employment Policy Department and leader of the team compiling the ILO Monitor, will present the findings at the press briefing.
Embargoed copies of the Monitor and the press release can be made available to recognized media on request.
Audio of the briefing will be available to the Palais press corps and registered journalists after the press conference.
