Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dahabshil Group has said that remittances continue to play a pivotal role in keeping Somalis alive in the wake of the ongoing devastating drought.
The Dahabshil Group CEO, Abdirashid Dualle made this pronouncement on Thursday during an interview with the media.
Dualle was speaking about how remittance services have helped the Somali people back at home as the Horn of Africa Nation grapples with the worst drought in decades.
He also commended Somali
community living in the diaspora for the reimbursement and remittances of money to their families in the country that has alleviated and helped them to overcome the vagaries of the climate change and conflict that has skyrocketed the prices of basic commodities in the World and particularly Somalia.
The drought in Somalia has sparked human displacement and decimated crops and livestock and also claimed the lives of people.
